How to Start Your First Stream

Ready to go live? This guide will walk you through the essential steps to prepare your scene and start broadcasting with LiveLens.

🏗️ Step 1: Prepare Your Scene (Add Sources)

Before starting the stream, you need to add content to your canvas. Without sources, your viewers will only see a black screen.

  1. On the Home Screen, look for the Plus (+) icon in the Sources panel.
  2. Tap it to open the Source Selection menu.
  3. Add the elements you want in your stream:
    • Screen Capture: To stream your gameplay or other apps.
    • Camera: To show your face (Front or Back camera).
    • Text: For titles, social media handles, or overlays.
    • Image/GIF: For logos, borders, or animated stickers.
  4. Arrange your layout: Drag and resize the sources on the canvas until your stream looks exactly how you want it.

📡 Step 2: Choose Your Destination

Once your scene is ready, tap the "Start Streaming" button in the Controls panel (bottom-right).

📺 Streaming to YouTube

YouTube requires a broadcast event to be created before sending data.

  • Login: Ensure you are logged into YouTube in Settings → Account.
  • Schedule Event: Use the "Create Schedule" button on the home screen or inside the stream setup.
  • Select & Go Live: Choose your scheduled event from the list and tap "Start Stream".

📺 Streaming to Twitch

Twitch is optimized for fast, direct streaming.

  • Direct Login: Log in via Settings → Account. LiveLens will automatically fetch your stream key and allow you to update your title/category instantly.
  • Custom RTMP: If you prefer not to log in, you can manually paste your RTMP URL and Stream Key in the "Custom" tab.

🌐 Other Platforms (Facebook, Kick, etc.)

  • You can use the Direct Login for Facebook and Kick to manage metadata and keys automatically.
  • For any other platform, simply select the CUSTOM tab, enter your Server URL and Stream Key, and you're good to go.

🚀 Step 3: Go Live!

  1. After selecting your platform and configuring the details, tap the "START STREAM" button.
  2. Check the Status Indicator at the top-right of the control panel:
    • CONNECTING: The app is handshaking with the server.
    • LIVE (Green): You are now broadcasting to the world! 🚀
  3. Monitor your stream: Keep an eye on the FPS and Bitrate counters to ensure your connection remains stable.

💡 Pro-Tips for a Better Stream

  • Audio Check: Use the Audio Mixer to ensure your Mic and Game volume levels are balanced (don't let them hit the red bars!).
  • Internet Stability: Streaming requires a strong upload speed. Use Wi-Fi or a stable 5G connection for the best results.
  • Battery: Streaming is resource-intensive. Keep your device plugged into a charger if you plan to stream for a long time.
